The 3rd business awards “Thalis o Milesios – Greece 200 years” were presented on Friday, September 10, at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, connecting the institution with the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the modern Greek state. The awards were organized by PALLADIAN COMMUNICATIONS and GK MEDIA PUBLISHING, under the auspices of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EVEA), the Central Union of Chambers of Greece, the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV), the Greek Exporters Association (SEVE) and Ella-dika mas initiative.
The event was honored by the presence of the Minister of Development and Investment, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, as a representative of the Prime Minister, the SYRIZA MP, Ms. Kyriaki Malama, as a representative of opposition leader, Alexis Tsipras, the Minister of Shipping and Island Policy, Mr. Giannis Plakiotakis, MPs, the Governor of Central Macedonia, Mr. Apostolos Tzitzikostas, the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Mr. Konstantinos Zervas, members of local government, top executives of professional associations and chambers of commerce and members of the business community.
For their overall contribution to Greek business and society, honorary awards were received by (in alphabetical order):
Mrs. Gianna Angelopoulou – Chairman of the Committee “Greece 2021”
Mrs. Marianna Vardinoyannis – Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO
Mr. Giannis Stournaras – Governor of the Bank of Greece
Captain Panagiotis Tsakos – Shipowner
Prizes were awarded to eight companies, founded in the 19th century by pioneering Greek entrepreneurs, which continue to excel today, in the same or a different corporate form and under Greek ownership.

As part of this year’s events, the award ceremony of the 2nd Business Awards “Thalis o Milesios” 2020 took place at the Emilios Riadis Hall at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall. The awards were organized by PALLADIAN COMMUNICATIONS and the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, under the auspices of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EVEA), the Central Union of Chambers of Greece, the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) and the Greek Exporters Association (SEVE).
The event was honored by the presence of the Deputy Minister of Development and Investment, responsible for Private Investment and PPPs, Mr. Nikos Papathanasis, the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, with responsibility for State Aid and Recovery from natural disasters, Mr. Christos Triantopoulos, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Ernst Reichel, the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Thessaloniki, Mr. Sibylla Bendig, senior executives of the Hellenic-German Chamber, members of local government, top executives of professional associations and chambers, as well as members of the business community.
The awarded Greek-German companies, stood out in recent years for their insight, innovation, rapid growth, extroversion, creation of new jobs, social responsibility, digital transformation and Corporate Governance. More specifically:

During the event, an honorary award was presented to the General Manager and Member of the Board of the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Athanasios Kelemis for his long-term contribution to the strengthening of German business in Greece, to the cultivation and strengthening of Greek-German relations and cooperation ties between the two countries. Accepting the honorary award, Dr. Kelemis stated: “I will continue to support with all my might Greek-German economic relations, in the coming years, in the context of my duties and beyond.”
The events were hybrid in nature, as strict health protocols were observed with a limited number of guests, while more than 5,000 people watched the two events via live streaming.
The institution of the Business Awards “Thalis o Milesios”, is an initiative by Palladian Communications, a company which, in 2021, celebrates 20 years of activity in the field of Communication and Public Relations.
