Verdi's penultimate opera was a huge success in its first presentation in 1887 at La Scala in Milan and since then it has been in the repertoire of all lyric theaters and in the first places of the public preferences.
The case concerns the revenge of Iagos, who is a flag bearer in the service of Othello. Iagos hates Othello, the black ruler of Cyprus and general of the Republic of Venice, because he bypassed him and promoted Cassius.
Iagos plots in order to convince Othello that Disdaimon's wife cheats on him with Cassius. Othello falls into the trap and, blurred by jealousy, strangles Disdaimona. When the plot unfolds, Othello commits suicide. in music and proposes for “Othello” a minimalist stage world, with aesthetically impressive and emotionally charged images, imposing lighting, stylized kinesiology, special costumes and intense make-up.
The production received warm welcome to its first presentation in April at the Baden-Baden Easter Festival in Germany.

“The Othello requires a lot of concentration. His story has more to do with an internal conflict, with an issue of insecurity, with someone who is very strong but also very weak. Robert Wilson – Short biography
Born in Waco, Texas, Wilson is one of the most important theatrical and visual artists in the world. His stage works unconventionally incorporate a wide range of artistic media, including dance, movement, lighting, sculpture, music and speech.
