Hospitality-restaurant sector lost 3.2 billion euros in turnover in Q3

Enterprises in the hospitality and restaurant/cafe sectors lost 3.2 billion euros in turnover in the third quarter of 2020 compared with the corresponding period last year, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday. More specifically, turnover in the hospitality sector totaled 1,558,171,593 euros in the July-September period, down 61.4 pct from the same period last year (4,034,094,834 euros), with the Karpathos region recording the biggest decline (84.5 pct), while Florina recorded a 0.6 pct increase.

Turnover in the restaurant/cafe sector totaled 1,580,633,291 euros, down 31.2 pct from the same period in 2019 (2,298,824,542 euros). Karpathos recorded the biggest decline (69.5 pct), while Serres the smallest decline (0.8 pct).
