Bank of Greece donates computers, books to young prisoners in Avlonas

The Bank of Greece (BoG) donated 10 desk computers and several books to the Special Detention Facility for Young People in Avlonas, North Attica, on Tuesday.

Secretary General of Anticrime Policy Sophia Nikolaou, BoG Deputy Governor Theodoros Pelagidis and the central bank’s advisor on monetary policy Dimitrios Sideris presented the computers and the books on history, literature, politics and administration to the facility.

Currently Avlonas’ facility holds a total of 288 young prisoners. Of these, 266 are aged 18-21 and 12 are aged 21-25. Staff totals 104 people.
